No Broadway shows for Tom Cruise

Just because Katie Holmes is appearing in a new Broadway play doesn't mean her husband will be following in her footsteps.

Rumors of Tom Cruise coming to Broadway appear to be greatly exaggerated. A source close to Cruise says that he has no interest in hitting the stage, and that any chatter about him doing so is “totally off-base.”

“Come on. Just because his wife is on Broadway, Tom is going to run and get a show too? Please. That’s ridiculous,” says the source. Holmes’ Broadway show, a revival of Arthur Miller's “All My Sons,” is reportedly getting off to a shaky start; advance sales for the play are said to be tepid at best.

In other Cruise news, little Suri was pictured clutching what appeared to be a $20 or $100 bill in her hand. Not even the financially well-to-do Cruise child is that careless with currency. A Cruise source says the bill is fake.

Cameron Diaz settling down?Cameron Diaz might want to retract comments she’s made about not living with any significant others. The actress is reportedly co-habitating with her flame of the past month, British model Paul Sculfor (who dated Jennifer Aniston last summer).

“He doesn’t have a house in L.A. and Cameron doesn’t mind him (living) with her,” sources told In Touch Magazine. The mag reports that the couple stays in Diaz’s Hollywood Hills house, and they’ve “been spending every night together.”

Weekend box office
It’s a great weekend to see “WALL-E.” Why? Because everyone and their brother will be at Will Smith’s new film, “Hancock.” The superhero flick is expected to earn as much as $100 million according to some estimates, which is good news for Will, but not such good news for his daughter, Willow.

“Kitt Kittredge: An American Girl,” which stars Willow and Abigail Breslin, among others, gets an expanded release this weekend. While it had an impressive five-theater opening last weekend, there’s no way it will beat “Hancock” over the Fourth of July.
