The father of “Hairspray” star Nikki Blonsky will remain behind bars until Aug. 19 in a Turks and Caicos jail, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
Carl Blonsky has been in police custody in Turks and Caicos since a July 29 airport brawl that included his daughter Nikki, “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Bianca Golden and Bianca’s mother, Elaine.
Carl Blonsky, along with his wife, appeared in court Friday, where the judge ruled he must remain in jail until his trial, which is set for Aug. 19. However, he could appeal to a higher court to be let out on bail, according to police.
Carl Blonksy is charged with grievous bodily harm, which carries a maximum punishment of five years, police told Access.
Daughter Nikki, who was charged with actual bodily harm, was not in court with her family. She is due back in the Turks and Caicos court on Dec. 1.
Elaine Golden, who reportedly suffered a cracked skull and broken nose during the melee, has left the Miami area hospital she was taken following the incident. Police told Access, Golden has been referred to a New York neurologist for her injuries.
