Motherhood is a beautiful thing. And for Nicole Kidman, who not long ago surprised the world with news that she and Keith Urban are now parents twice over, it's often a very emotional thing.

At least judging by her recent revealing interview with Australia's 60 Minutes.

Naturally, it didn't take long for the conversation with the three-time Oscar nominee to come around to her new daughter, Faith, as she showed off a photo of the fellow redhead on her iPhone.

"Sunday had red hair, and then it went blond," she said. "Sunday's very much her dad and everyone says Faith is more me, but who knows, right?"

And while the 43-year-old was very honest about the fact that Faith was born via a gestational carrier (different from a surrogate, incidentally, since Faith is the biological child of both Kidman and Urban), she said that she and her husband were obviously present for their daughter's birth--which was not only emotional at the time, but in its recollection.

"It was so deeply emotional and moving, and having given birth and then being on the place of seeing my child being born this way. The love I felt for our gestational carrier...She was the most wonderful woman to do this for us," Kidman said, tearing up.

"We were in a place of desperately wanting another child and this opportunity arose for us, and I couldn't get pregnant and we wanted another baby. I get emotional talking about it, because I'm so grateful to her. I cannot believe I'm crying on 60 Minutes."

Kidman, who's never been one to hide her fertility issues from the public, went on to say that the pain of not being able to conceive is a profound one.

"Anyone that's been in the place of wanting another child, or wanting a child, knows the disappointment, pain and loss you go through trying. And struggling with fertility is such a big thing. And it's not something I've ever run away from talking about, I've had a very roller-coaster ride with fertility, I just have. It has never been easy for me. So to now be in this place where I have two gorgeous adopted children and two biological children, I can't believe that's what's happened in my life."

And for those wondering, yes, Connor and Bella, the children she shares with Tom Cruise, have met their baby sister.

"It's so different because they don't live with us, but I would love for them to come live with us at some stage," she said. "They're 18 and 16, they're teenagers, they're in a whole different place."

She also shut down questions about whether the bond with her eldest children is any different from that she shares with her youngest: "Children are children. You'll die for your children. And when you feel that as a parent, that's the unconditional love. And people can talk about it, but until you can feel it, you can't grasp it."

So are there any more little nippers on the way for Nicole and Keith? Well, depends on which one you ask.

"I never say never," she explained. "I think if you ask Keith, he'd be like, 'No'...My sister's got five kids. He's like, 'You're not gonna be your sister, are you?' But I'm at an age now where...it's very, very hard to have a child once you hit 43. And we love what we have."

And most importantly, who they have.

"We found each other in this huge world and we're crazy about each other," she said of Urban. "And we now have this family that we've gotten to experience in our 40s...I'm so glad to have met my mate, the person that kind of protects me and loves me. He's a good bloke.

"Life's a funny thing," she went on. "I didn't think I'd make it to 43 and I have. Maybe I'll make it to 83."

We certainly hope so.
