The casting news comes on the heels of recent announcements that Emma Stone will star as love interest Gwen Stacy while Rhys Ifans will portray the not-yet-revealed villain.
Cameras are scheduled to begin rolling in December.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has suffered yet another setback. The U2- scored show's opening night was scheduled for Dec. 21, but that's now been pushed to Jan. 11 in order for the producers to fine tune the production a wee bit more. As for previews, those have also shifted slightly, from Nov. 14 to Nov. 28.
