The Neptunes earn long-overdue Grammy

Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have lent their distinctive sonic style to scores of hip-hop, pop and rock hits for years, but the producer-songwriters’ victory at this year’s Grammys was long overdue.

The duo, known as the Neptunes, did not earn any nominations last year because the various record companies they recorded for didn’t submit their names for consideration.

This year, they won producer of the year. Here’s a sampling of songs the Neptunes have created over the past few years:
