Neil Simon is being honored for making people laugh for nearly 60 years. He’ll get the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Simon has won three Tonys, one for his most famous play, “The Odd Couple,” which he also turned into two movies.

He once had four Broadway shows running at the same time, which is a record.

Simon helped write the T-V series “Your Show of Shows” with other up-and-coming writers like Woody Allen and Mel Brooks.

He’ll be honored at the Kennedy Center on October 15.
