When longtime couple Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber announced they were going their separate ways last week, their joint statement said they were doing so with "great love, respect and friendship" — and now they're proving they really meant it.
Schreiber celebrated his 49th birthday on Tuesday, and Watts marked the occasion in a sweet and public way.
Watts shared an adorable family photo of the "Ray Donovan" star holding their two sons, Sasha, 9, and Samuel, 7. She added the caption, "Happy Birthday to this one!!" along with a few celebratory emoji.

Just a few days earlier, Schreiber had shared a similar sentiment for Watts' Sept. 28 birthday. Responding to a throwback pic Watts shared on her 48th birthday, he wrote, "Happy Birthday Sweetheart."

Watts and Schreiber were together for 11 years before they parted. In their statement, issued to People magazine, they explained, "Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple."
