Mothers' Day: Lynette and Tom finally discovered that Porter had been hiding out with Lynette's mom, Stella, at her nursing home. When the older woman wouldn't give him up, Lynette pulled a dirty trick: She pretended to be injured in a car crash, and when her mother and son raced to the hospital, showed up uninjured. The plot about Porter facing trial for the deaths of seven people in the nightclub fire went out the window when the charges were suddenly dropped, leaving Lynette more time to make nice with her own mom. Turns out mom was mad about Lynette dumping her in the home and Lynette was mad that mom was so mean. In the end, Stella miraculously turned around, and she and Lynette enjoyed some booze together while reminiscing in the nursing home. Everything's coming up Milhouse for the Scavos!

Not exactly Mom of the Year: When Carlos has to travel for his new high-powered job, Gaby's two girls refuse to listen to their mom. Juanita almost breaks her mom's heart by telling her they love their father more than they love her. When physically dragging Juanita to the bathtub fails, Gaby enlists the loud, scary voice of her roofer, Reggie, to freak the girls out and make them clean their room. Carlos isn't thrilled about Gaby's unique parenting decisions, but in the end, he confesses that when he was the parent-in-charge, the girls told him they loved Gaby more than they loved him. He ends up telling his daughters that they have to obey their mother, and they seem primed to obey.

Miss Bossy Boots: Bree has bought Alex and Andrew a house, so she expects a little groveling. When Alex calls her out on her emasculating treatment of Orson, Bree sulks and pouts. Realizing that a free house from Bree comes with major strings, Alex tries to give the property back. Andrew points out that not everyone in the world needs to obey Bree's every whim, and in the end, she tells her almost son-in-law that she needs a person like him around to keep her from becoming too selfish.

Trapped in the basement: Edie and Susan were trapped in a basement together, and the confinement led the two women to share secrets and stories about how they relate to men. Susan discovered that Edie's father was a real jerk, though when she tried to tell Edie that her childhood explained away her bad behavior, Edie slapped her. Meanwhile, Edie told Susan that the man-hungry Susan needed to spend a little time away from men. Susan had been planning to move to Riverton with Jackson, but apparently took Edie's words to heart. By the end of the episode, Susan had discussed the move with Jackson and while the conversation wasn't heard by the audience, she didn't look like a woman who was moving anywhere.

Dave's dream of revenge takes a weird turn: Kicked out by Edie, Dave was heading for a motel when who should invite him to move in but Mike, the very man whose life he is trying to ruin? While living with the plumber whose car killed Dave's wife and child, he was exposed to more of Mike's relationship with Katherine. A lightbulb seemed to go on in Dave's head when Mike mentioned that he thought he was falling for the redhead. Seems that Dave had thought Susan was Mike's one and only love. Will the revenge plans have to be redirected? At least Dave's change of address didn't last for long: By the end of the show, Edie, possibly inspired by her cellar conversation with Susan, had taken him back.
