Supermodel May Andersen is being formally denied entry to the United States and is being put on the next plane to Amsterdam.
Andersen was arrested after allegedly hitting a flight attendant on a plane from Amsterdam to Miami last Thursday. She was charged with assault, held in the Miami-Dade County jail, and later was turned over to federal immigration custody.
The 23-year-old has appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition and has posed for Victoria's Secret.
Federal officials say that Andersen was seeking to enter the U-S under the visa waiver program, which means that certain persons from certain countries don't need a visa. But officials determined today that Andersen was "inadmissable" under that program.
It's not clear how her return to Europe will affect her case in Miami.
