Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw lead ACM Awards nominations

The nominees are in for the 49th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Leading the charge are Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw, who each earned seven total nominations, while Keith Urban follows just behind with six. 

The awards Lambert is up for include entertainer of the year, female vocalist of the year and single of the year for "Mama's Broken Heart." McGraw's nominations include album of the year for "Two Lanes of Freedom" and single of the year for "Highway Don't Care."

Keith Urban's nominations for his 2013 album Fuse include Male Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for his duet with Miranda Lambert on "We Were Us."

Other familiar names earned multiple nominations as well. Blake Shelton is up for five awards, including entertainer of the year, male vocalist of the year and album of the year for "Based on a True Story." Taylor Swift also received five nominations, including entertainer of the year and female vocalist of the year. R ecent Grammy-winner Kacey Musgraves continues her streak of award-show recognition, also with five nominations, including female vocalist of the year and album of the year for "Same Trailer Different Park."

Luke Bryan, who had one of the biggest albums of 2013 with "Crash My Party," only earned three nominations – Entertainer of the Year, male vocalist of the year and album of the year.

Rounding out the major categories with mutliple nominations are Florida Georgia Line, who struck radio gold with "Cruise" last year and Darius Rucker, whose hit "Wagon Wheel" keeps turning out plays.

CBS will broadcast the ACM Awards live from Las Vegas' MGMT Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, April 6 at 8 p.m. EST. Blake Shelton will host the ceremony.

Along with the night's biggest honor, entertainer of the year, fans will once again decide the winner of new artist of the year.
