It's been nearly 10 years since the Jack Black-starring hit movie "School of Rock" was released, but that doesn't mean that the cast members couldn't get together a few months early to celebrate.
Members of the cast, including Black, Miranda Cosgrove, Mike White and the entire "School of Rock" band assembled on Thursday at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Tex. Director Richard Linklater hails from Austin, and he was also on hand for the festivities.
Cosgrove documented the event with several photos on Instagram.
Approximately 1,000 music and film fans also showed up for the anniversary screening, sponsored by he Austin Film Society. The film was followed by a cast Q&A and VIP after party at the Gibson Austin Showroom, according to The Austin Film Society press release. And lucky partygoers were treated to the band's reunion, as the group came back together to perform the movie's signature song, "School of Rock."
"School of Rock" featured Black as an aspiring rock-star-turned-substitute-teacher who rallies a class of lackluster adolescents and teaches them how to rock out. Cosgrove, best known at the time for her role on "iCarly," jump-started her film career playing one of his students.
"10-year 'School of Rock' reunion!" she wrote on Instagram. "Sooo good to see everyone!"
