Miley Cyrus shared a moving family moment on Instagram Monday as she and her father performed one of his classic songs in honor of a lost loved one.

"If you only you knew how much I miss you," they sang together. "If only you knew how much I cared."

The song, "How've Ya Been," was featured on dad's 2006 album, "Wanna Be Your Joe," but as Miley revealed, he penned it years earlier following the death of a close friend.

"Suicide awareness month has come to an end but never should the fight for love and acceptance for all!" she wrote in the caption that accompanied the clip. "This is the 2nd song my dad ever wrote years ago after his best friend took his own life because of discrimination in his community ... Love love love ..."
