Mick Jagger, a great-grandpa? Yup, that's right! The slinky hipped lead singer of The Rolling Stones, 70, is celebrating the birth of his first great-granddaughter.
Two months after the devastating death of his girlfriend L'Wren Scott, the "You Can't Always Get What You Want" hitmaker has received the fabulous family news that granddaughter Assisi Jackson has become a mom.
Assisi, 21, is just a year older than her mother, Mick’s daughter Jade Jagger, was when she had her. She lives in rural South West England with her chef boyfriend Alex Key. The couple have yet to announce their daughter's name.
"The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes," the new mom has told Hello! Magazine in the past. "I wouldn't have considered having a child if I was doing what my friends are doing at this stage. I don't drink, I don't smoke and I'm very settled."
Despite his rock lifestyle, Jagger is devoted to his family and will be delighted with the news of his great-granddaughter's birth. Not that he'll be using the great-granddad moniker any time soon!
"I imagine it's nice to be a great-granddad, although I'm not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one," Assisi continued to Hello! "I call him Mick — I wouldn't start calling him grandpa.”
The birth of the new baby means Assisi’s mom Jade — daughter of Mick and ex-wife Bianca Jagger — becomes a grandma, although Jade herself is expecting a new baby next month!
Jewelry designer Jade, 42, who already has two daughters, Assisi and Amba, 17, by Piers Jackson, is expecting her third baby with new husband Adrian Fillary.
