It looks like Michael Phelps has earned gold again — a wedding band.
Actually, the most decorated Olympian of all time has yet to be seen sporting a ring, but according to reports, he and Nicole Johnson are now married.
The happy news isn't exactly a surprise, since the pair announced their engagement back in February of 2015. What is a surprise, however, is that the wedding took place months ago.
In fact, when Phelps raked in five gold medals and one silver in Rio over the summer, he was already a married man.
People magazine obtained a copy of the couple's record of marriage following earlier reports from TMZ, and confirmed that the pair swapped vows on June 13, in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Phelps' agent, Peter Carlisle, was listed as the person who performed the ceremony.
In August, while in Rio, Johnson spoke to Access Hollywood about their wedding plans and stated, "We have a date. It'll be small and intimate for the wedding, and then we're throwing a massive bash for everyone in the states."
It looks like that big bash is still in the works, as just two weeks ago, she posted a photo of a bridal fashion show on Instagram, writing, "Eenie meenie miney mo."
This has been an amazing year for the now-retired Olympic swimmer, in addition to his latest medals and marriage, he and Johnson welcomed their first child in May, baby boy Boomer.
Congratulations to the whole family!
