“Star Trek” won’t be going where swine flu has gone before — at least not yet.
The film’s release in Mexico has been delayed due to the epidemic, a Paramount studio rep confirmed to Access Hollywood on Wednesday.
“(A) specific date has not been determined and we are continuing to monitor the situation,” the rep said in a statement.
The sci-fi film opens worldwide on May 8.
The virus outbreak has affected other films as well. The Mexican release of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” has also been pushed back and its premiere in the nation was canceled on Tuesday.
Additionally, according to Variety, “Angels & Demons,” which opens worldwide on May 15, may also be delayed in Mexico.
