The body of an American television producer's wife has left Mexico and is being flown to the United States, 20 days after she was found dead at a Caribbean coast resort.

The body of Monica Beresford-Redman will travel to Los Angeles, California, with a stopover in Houston, Texas.

Her family was not present when a hearse took the coffin to the airport Wednesday.

Her husband, Bruce Beresford-Redman, is barred from leaving Mexico while the death is investigated. The former producer of "Survivor" and co-creator of the "Pimp My Ride" show says she failed to return from a shopping trip.

Prosecutor Francisco Alor says Beresford-Redman has been staying in Cancun and the nearby city of Merida while the investigations continues.
