Charlie Puth's name is not yet a household word. Sure, his tune "See You Again" was a huge hit for Wiz Khalifa on the "Furious 7" soundtrack, but he's only just released his debut EP, "Some Type of Love."
But he's definitely on the right track for superstardom, thanks in part to his knack for pairing up with heavyweights in the music biz: On his first single from that EP, "Marvin Gaye," he's teamed up with Meghan Trainor!
The pair came together originally at a party neither wanted to attend, he revealed when they stopped by the TODAY studio Tuesday. "I was having a pizza, you were texting me a lot," he said. "She texts with a lot of emojis."
"I was like, we have to work together," grinned Trainor.
And so they have. Check out the way they get it on (musically speaking!) with their performances of "Marvin Gaye."
