The departure of Kristin Wiig,  Abby Elliot and Andy Samberg left a big hole in the "Saturday Night Live" roster, and the show has filled it. Just days away from the Sept. 15 start of the fall season, NBC announced that three new comics are joining "SNL."

Aidy Bryant, a veteran of iO Chicago and Annoyance theater is one of the new cast members. She was also a member of legendary Chicago club Second City. In a recent Time Out Chicago piece about the Second City's "next legends," she was described as a comedian who "skillfully plays vulnerable oddballs." Here's a short sketch starring Bryant:

Among the three new featured players, Tim Robinson is the only man joining the show. He, too, is an alum of Second City and iO Theater. He's also performed at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. Here, you can see Robinson in a Second City Network video.

Yet another iO Theater and Second City company member rounds out the group. (See a trend here, future "SNL" hopefuls?) Cecily Strong is her name, and here is her Facebook link. She appears to be quite funny, and you can check out some of her work on YouTube. (But be warned, the language and topics may not be safe for work.)

"SNL's" return on Sept. 15 marks the show's 38th season. The host for the night is Seth MacFarlane, and musical guest is Frank Ocean.

After you check out the three new cast members' work, tell us on our Facebook page who you think will be the best!
