It's been almost two years since Paul Walker's death, but the actor's legacy lives on, not only through his daughter but now also through a new philanthropic organization.
On what would have been the actor's 42nd birthday Saturday, Walker's daughter Meadow, 16, announced via Instagram the launch of The Paul Walker Foundation to continue giving back in her father's honor.
"Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions," she wrote. "His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world."
She also wrote: "I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father."
On its website, The Paul Walker Foundation says that it will seek to "to help provide educations to ocean leaders of tomorrow through scholarships and grants." The foundation is currently partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Throughout his life, Walker was involved in marine biology, studying the field when he attended community college and helping The Billfish Foundation and appearing in the National Geographic Channel's "Expedition Great White."
Meadow has shared a number of sweet and sentimental moments in tribute to her father throughout the past year and a half.
On Father's Day in June, she shared a photo of herself as a baby playing with her father.
Last September, she celebrated his birthday with a beautiful throwback pic.
