Paul McCartney says he's "doing fine," even as he goes through a divorce from his second wife, Heather Mills McCartney.

He appeared at a news conference in London today, speaking about his new classical album being released. And he credits much of the work to his first wife, Linda, who died of breast cancer in 1998.

He says her death "stalled" the album, which he abandoned for a year after her death.

MCcartney says "Her spirit is very much in this. It would have been her birthday yesterday, so it's very appropriate."

Reporters asked how he'd been coping in recent months. McCartney said, "I'm doing fine, thank you. It's OK. I'm enjoying music. It's something I love to do. It's something that sustains me."
