Celebrities proved they could handle whore pit vipers on Celebrity Apprentice, but how would they manage in the real jungle?
Asked and answered, says NBC's godawful I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here. But what if reality mastermind Mark Burnett merged two of his hit shows, Celebrity Apprentice and Survivor, into a single Celebrity Survivor?
The ber-producer fielded this question and more--including reports that one of his Survivor stars leaked spoilers --in a conference call promoting next week's premiere of Survivor: Redemption Island. His answers might surprise you...
When asked about allegations that Samoa and Heroes vs. Villains competitor Russell Hantz leaked his seasons' boot lists, Burnett offered the ultimate dodge: "I have no idea about it," he told reporters. "I found out the same time you found out--I read it online. I don't know if it's actually true, because I, honestly, as of this minute, still have not had a conversation with CBS or anyone even about it."
"I should probably call and ask someone" about the controversy, he added, improbably. "I've not even spoken to Jeff about [it]. I forgot. I completely forgot about it. Maybe I'll call him later."
Maybe he can conference us in?
One thing Burnett has discussed with Probst and CBS is Celebrity Survivor. "Has it ever come up in meetings?" he said. "Sure."
But does a meeting make it so?
"I think that if CBS wanted to [do an all-celebrity version of Survivor]," Burnett mused, "if it was a really good reason, and it was like a shortened version for charity...Yeah, that wouldn't be such a bad thing."
Do you agree--or is Celebrity Survivor a very, very bad thing? What's your take on the Icky Leaks controversy? And which celebrities would you most want to see doing Survivor challenges?
