A pyrotechnician has pleaded guilty to stalking after sending a mysterious package to the home of county music star Louise Mandrell.

Kirk Easterwood, of Pigeon Forge, was arrested after he sent a package to Mandrell on April 27.

Easterwood had been harassing one of Mandrell’s employees for three years after getting fired from Mandrell’s theater in Pigeon Forge, Detective Kenny Ray said Friday.

The package was opened by a bomb squad because of Easterwood’s background with explosives.

Inside, officers found a pocketknife sharpened on both sides, some Tarot cards, homemade greeting cards decorated with comic book characters, pyramids and crystal balls.

Easterwood pleaded guilty Wednesday, but police agreed to drop the charges after a year if he does not make contact with either Mandrell or her employees.

Ray said that if Easterwood violates that order, he will be charged with a felony.
