The trailer for "Magic Mike XXL" is out, and it makes the original flick seem practically prim by comparison.
The much-anticipated sequel sees Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello and the rest of the hard-bodied gang head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for a stripper convention. But let's be honest: Is anyone planning on seeing it for the plot?
"We didn't want to show the best parts of the movie in this trailer but it was very, very hard to resist," reads a flash of text, which cuts to shots of Tatum's biceps and Manganiello writhing against a soda machine.
Six-packs and sexual innuendos abound in the two-minute clip, which features dialogue such as "We're gonna see if he's still got some magic in that Mike." (And that's not the only quotable line from Jada Pinkett Smith, who also proclaims, "It's not bro time, it's showtime.")
In November, Tatum told Time magazine that the new movie is "a lot more fun" than the first "Magic Mike," released in 2012.
"In the first movie, we were obligated to show the underbelly — the pitfalls and dangers of being in that world," he said. "In this one, we kicked off a lot of the darkness. We are going to have a lot of fun on the road together."
"Magic Mike XXL" hits theaters on July 1.
