Lohan says nail message wasn't aimed at judge

The actress tweeted that  her profane nail art was unrelated, saying"It had nothing to do w/court.. it's an airbrush design from a stencil."

Lindsay Lohan's profane nail art wasn't meant for her court date, the starTweeted on Wednesday.

"Didn't we do our nails as a joke with our friend dc?" she wrote to the Twitter user liana_levi about the much-photographed "f*** U" inscription on her left hand's middle fingernail as she was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Tuesday. "It had nothing to do w/court.. it's an airbrush design from a stencil xx."

It is as yet unknown if the tiny nail art, which seemed to go unnoticed in court on Tuesday, will provoke any legal response from Judge Marsha Revel.

Lindsay must turn herself in to begin her jail sentence before July 20.
