Taking a break from blogging about her dysfunctional family on Tuesday, Lindsay Lohan decided to get political and chime in on Sen. John McCain’s running mate.
Sure, LiLo’s still upset over her father’s tendency to talk to the media about her private life, but in a MySpace post titled “Political Blog,” Lindsay instead focused on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s decision to publicly discuss her teenage daughter Bristol’s pregnancy.
“Its distracting from the real issues; the real everyday problems that this country experiences,” the wannabe pundit wrote. “I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter’s pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them if elected.”
Miley sings about Nick
In her angry lost-love anthem “7 Things,” Miley Cyrus lists everything she hates about an unnamed former flame. Now, thanks to some helpful hints from video director Brett Ratner, it seems clear that singer Nick Jonas was the infamous ex.
“(Miley) had me come out to her house,” Brett told MTV News of his pre-video prep. “She started showing me all of her personal items from under her bed that her ex-boyfriend gave her. So she pulled out his dirty socks and a bunch of photographs.”
But it wasn’t the dirty socks that gave the ex-beau away. No the boy Miley had in mind when she sang, “Your friends, they’re jerks / When you act like them, just know it hurts,” is better known for something else.
“The necklace she’s wearing in the video is the necklace he gave her,” Brett said. “She’s wearing his diabetes or medical necklace.”
That was quite the revealing tidbit, given that Nick promotes diabetes awareness and speaks openly about his type 1 diagnosis.
Priestley and Thiessen say no to ‘90210’“90210” version 2.0 definitely won’t be a reunion show. While Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty are happily reprising their original roles for the spin-off drama, which premiered Tuesday night, no one else from the old-school cast has any interest.
Tori Spelling may have been interested before the equal-pay scandal hit the headlines, but she’s since said she’s out. And ’90s heartthrob Luke Perry can’t even imagine taking another turn as bad-boy Dylan.
When asked if he’d enjoy a shot at the rehashed roundup, Jason Priestley told the Daily Express, “Er, not really, no.” In fact, the actor found it difficult to even feign enthusiasm about the project. “Er, I’m intrigued by it. I think, like, I’m intrigued by it, sure,” he said.
It was more of the same from Tiffani Thiessen, who dropped the Amber since her days playing Valerie on the original "90210." While Thiessen has no plans to join old pals Jennie and Shannen, she did offer some well wishes.
“I mean I wish them all the luck,” Tiffani said in an interview with UsMagazine.com. “But I’m just so in a different place right now.”
Dish on the flyTalk about your curious couples! The Daily Mirror reports that Michael Jackson and Pamela Anderson have gone on a two top-secret dates recently. “It was all arranged by their people in total secrecy, very cloak and dagger,” an insider told the paper. “They arrived separately at the Shutters Hotel on Malibu Beach so no one would suspect anything and then had a few drinks in the bar.” The pair allegedly had such a good time they met again at another Malibu hideout. “They chatted about Michael turning 50, his new album, their kids. And he seemed genuinely interested in Pamela,” the source said. … When asked if he and Madonna expect to have any more children, Guy Ritchie revealed who’s in charge of family planning. “You’ll have to speak to (Madonna) about that,” the “RocknRolla” director told reporters at the film’s London premiere. “She makes those decisions.” … “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta may or may not be in a relationship, but either way, he’s not talking. “I’m just afraid to mention anything now,” David told the Los Angeles Times. The singer turned tight-lipped after fans reacted to his recent public outing with a female friend. “They said (to her), ‘You’re not good enough for him, and you’re ugly.’ You can see why people want to keep things to themselves,” he explained.
