Following her arrest on suspicion of DUI this past weekend, Lindsay Lohan has entered Promises rehab facility in Malibu.
“Lindsay admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility on Memorial Day,” her publicist said in statement to “Access Hollywood.” “Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility.”
Numerous agencies reported the actress’ lawyer personally drove the “Georgia Rule” star to the facility where Britney was previously treated, yesterday. Lohan was scheduled to do an OK Magazine photo shoot tomorrow, but that has now been cancelled. She was also set to begin filming “Poor Things,” with Shirley Maclaine and Rosario Dawson, but that has been put on hold.
Lindsay was arrested under suspicion of DUI early Saturday morning after she crashed her Mercedes convertible over a curb and into a clump of trees just around the corner from Tom Cruise’s and the Beckhams’ new home. Lindsay got out of the car and ran to a nearby home. Her bodyguard then moved her wrecked car and took Lindsay to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her minor injuries.
“There was some additional contraband found in the vehicle,” authorities said at a press conference.
That contraband? Police claim cocaine was found in her car. As a result, Lindsay, who spent time in rehab to battle alcoholism in January, may face additional felony charges. The crash brought to an end a very busy night of partying for the underage Lindsay.
It began with clubbing, continued on to a house party in the Hollywood Hills, then another. Later, Lindsay stopped at the Mondrian Hotel and tried to get a room, but they were booked solid so she returned to her condo, but she didn’t stay home. Instead, she picked up a girlfriend in her Mercedes and later crashed.
On Monday morning, Lohan was photographed slumped over in the passenger seat of a car driven by that friend — DJ Samantha Ronson, after celebrating Memorial Weekend at a poolside party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
Lindsay spoke about turning 21 and legally being able to drink at her big upcoming party in Vegas on “Ellen.”
“I’m going to milk it,” she said. “It’s a big birthday and I think it's been along time in coming for my friends in LA who have clubs … (soon they won’t) have to worry about getting in trouble because I’m underage.”
Reports have surfaced that Svedka Vodka was going to sponsor her big bash in Las Vegas but pulled out following the incident. A spokesperson for the drink maker said they were never officially linked to the party, but were in talks. “Access Hollywood” understands those talks to have now ceased.
