Teen actress Lindsay Lohan has been hospitalized in Los Angeles for treatment of a high fever, her spokeswoman said on Monday.
The 18-year-old star of the teen film comedy “Mean Girls” was admitted to the hospital over the weekend after being ill for several days and running a temperature as high as 103 degrees Fahrenheit, her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, told Reuters.
“She’s undergoing some tests,” Zelnik said, adding that the actress may be suffering from the flu. “She’s doing well and resting.”
The illness has forced Lohan to miss several days of filming on her upcoming movie, “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” and a guest spot opposite real-life boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama on the Fox television comedy “That ’70s Show.”
The red-headed actress began modeling at the age of 3 and made her big-screen debut playing twin sisters in Disney’s 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap.” Her more recent film credits include “Freaky Friday” and “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.”
