Congratulations are in order for Lindsay Lohan!
The 35-year-old actor revealed on Instagram Sunday, November 28 that she got engaged to her fiancé, Bader Shammas. Lohan shared four casual photos of the couple as they posed, showcasing her gorgeous ring in each shot.
“My love. My life. My family. My future,” she wrote, adding, “@bader.shammas #love 💍.”
Though Lohan turned off comments on her Instagram post, fans celebrated the actor’s news on Twitter after she re-shared her announcement on the social media platform.
“i’m so happy for lindsay lohan,” one fan tweeted.
Another fan penned a sweet note to the newly engaged couple on what they could expect in their future.
“I can’t wait for the incredible amount of love that’s about to flood over you,” they wrote. “Being engaged is like something I’ve never experienced before in life. The amount of love that comes from this moment is indescribable. Congratulations you two!”
“This made me tear up this is what life is about I am so happy for you life is about the adventure It’s about the connections we create sending all of the love and light to you both,” a third person wrote.
Another user shared their well wishes for the couple, writing, “I wish you the best of luck, and a love like my husband and I have, Lindsay!”
The Independent reported that the “Mean Girls” star and Shammas have been together for two years, though the have both kept their relationship private. Shammas reportedly lives in Dubai, where Lohan has resided over the last seven years. Shammas is the assistant vice president of the global investments bank, Credit Suisse.
Though Lohan dominated the silver screen during the aughts, she has not been an active actor in recent years. That is set to change soon, with Lohan set to star alongside Chord Overstreet in an unnamed Netflix holiday rom-com, which is set to debut next year.
Earlier this month, Netflix, Lohan, and Overstreet all revealed a small sneak peek into the Christmas film. The streaming platform shared a snap of the two actors walking side by side on a snowy street on November 12, captioning the post, “She’s back!”
The “Glee” star shared the same photo on Instagram, captioning the post, “Here we go!! Tis the season. This is gonna be a fun one!”
Lohan shared a close-up shot of herself from the same scene a couple of days later on Instagram, penning a short message in the caption about her return to the big screen.
“Back at work and couldn’t be happier! Action!” Lohan wrote.
