Lighten up: Kristen Wiig steals the show with Grammy dance to Sia's 'Chandelier'

How to handle your camera-shyness while performing live on the Grammys? For Sia, the answer was to hire a 12-year-old dancer and Kristen Wiig.

A few things American audiences may know about the Australian singer-songwriter Sia: First, she's behind the Grammy-nominated hit "Chandelier." Second, she hit No. 1 on the album charts last summer with "1,000 Forms of Fear." And third? She'd rather you not see her face.

But how to handle that on the live Grammys telecast Sunday night? For Sia, it was no problem: She hired the young girl The Washington Post called her "official sidekick," 12-year-old Maddie Ziegler, and "Saturday Night Live" vet Kristen Wiig to do the face-time for the performance of "Chandelier."

Meanwhile, Sia stood at the back of the set (a light- and junk-filled studio and hallway), facing the wall and singing.

And, of course, it was awesome. Both ladies wore the cropped platinum blonde wig Sia frequently sports (on the red carpet she wore one so voluminous it covered half of her face) and danced around to moves imported from both the "Chandelier" video and Sia's other hit "Elastic Heart." The dance culminated in Wiig and Ziegler yanking off each other's bodysuit off to reveal nude leotards.

No surprise: Wiig totally stole the show. And Sia must have recognized that, calling her and Ziegler's performance "total bossness."
