Country singer LeAnn Rimes was resting after undergoing surgery for a leg infection, her publicist said.

Rimes, 23, canceled three performances on her “This Woman” tour to undergo outpatient surgery for a tissue tear, publicist Diana Baron said.

“She is doing just fine,” Baron said Tuesday. “She’s now resting in a hotel room. She won’t be able to travel for a day or two.”

Rimes is scheduled to return to the stage July 19 at the Country Thunder USA festival in Twin Lakes, Wis.

The publicist said she did not know the cause of the infection.

Rimes, best known for hit songs “How Do I Live” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” won two Grammy awards in 1996.
