'Law & Order: SVU' stars Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni reunite

Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler have finally reunited! OK, not exactly. But "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star Mariska Hargitay and her former on-screen partner Chris Meloni really did meet up recently. The actress posted several selfies to Instagram of the two formerly inseparable "SVU" detectives enjoying some time together.

"Look who I found! #togetheragain," she captioned the first image.

But judging by their smiles and the blurry photos, there were no glum cases involving abuse victims for the duo to investigate, only good times to be had.

According to the actor, the duo were grabbing a bite to eat.

"SVU" fans were, not surprisingly, delighted to see the two together again.

"He needs to make an appearance on the new svu we miss him," Instagram user beautiful_gloria wrote in the comments on one photo.

"Come back to svu, Stabler.

Meloni's angry detective left the show unexpectedly in 2011 after 12 seasons on NBC's long-running crime drama. The actor, who has since appeared on "True Blood" and the film "Man of Steel," is now starring on "Surviving Jack," a new Fox comedy that debuts on March 27.

"Law & Order: SVU" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
