No, your ears do not deceive you: that is a harmonica. In the middle of a Lady Gaga song.
Which begs the question, why?
Well, move over Taylor Swift. Step aside, Carrie Underwood. There's a new country star in town and it's Mother Monster herself.

As a gift to fans, Lady Gaga released the so-dubbed "Country Road Version" of "Born This Way" on Twitter this morning.
As expected, there's already been umbrage taken with whether or not the song is truly a country version or simply a stripped- and slowed-down rock track, but whatever the genre, fans are already eating it up.
The track, which was coproduced by Gaga, is more than just a regurgitation of the song to a different beat, as the pop chameleon went one step further and even included a new verse that falls in the middle of the tune:
"If we want to make it country, baby, it's OK/ 'Cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way/ From London, Paris, Japan, back to U.S.A./ I was born on the road, I was born to brave."
