Back in 2004, “Laguna Beach” launched Lauren Conrad into the reality spotlight and two years later, “The Hills” turned her into a full-fledged star.
But now, Conrad says she is ready to leave it all behind.
“I’ve been doing it for five years. I think that it’s time for them to get someone else to step in,” Conrad told OK! magazine after debuting her new spring line at L.A. Fashion Week on Tuesday.
Following her fashion show, Conrad was spotted hanging out with former BFF-turned-“Hills” nemesis Heidi Montag at STK in Hollywood, leading to reports the two had buried the hatchet and made up.
Montag, who was at STK dining with boyfriend Spencer Pratt, saw Conrad at the restaurant and reportedly asked if she could congratulate her on her fashion show. After a brief chat, the girls were seen hugging, according to Us Weekly.
For Conrad, the strain the cameras can put on a relationship may be the reason she ultimately walks away from her hit MTV show.
“It’s more difficult when not only everyone knows about your problems, but they make them worse because things escalate and things get twisted,” Conrad recently said. “It’s hard to have an actual friendship be torn apart in the media.”
