To celebrate the kickoff of the London Olympics, Kathie Lee and Hoda put together their own brand of Olympic competition in the form of a very special obstacle course.
Hoda started off on with some support: Her longtime friend and superfan Linny cheered her from the sidelines, sporting a "Team Hoda" shirt as well.
Hoda said the course was complicated and would "show our ingenuity, our athletic ability."
As part of the event, the ladies had to jump onto balance beams with glasses of wine held high in their hands. Then they each had to throw a ring around their intern assistant, and then stuff a basketball into a net. After that, the ladies had to open wine bottles and then run to correspondent Sara Haines and place an Olympic medal around her neck.
Even though Hoda had some fan power behind her, KLG swept the competition, gaining a major lead when she whipped through the wine bottle uncorking challenge. As her prize, Kathie Lee received an extra large gold medal with the TODAY logo on its front, as well as bragging rights that she is a real Olympian (uncorked bottle of wine and all).
TODAY.com contributor Jillian Eugenios thinks more Olympic competitions should involve the delicate art of balancing a full glass of wine.
