Celebutante Kim Kardashian is so misunderstood. Often regarded as little more than another famous-for-being-famous Hollywood “it” girl, Kim took a break from her busy reality TV schedule to chat with US Weekly and set the record straight.

“Everyone thinks that I am this wild party girl and that I get drunk and dance on tables, but I don’t even drink alcohol,” the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star revealed. “We (she and sisters Khloe and Kourtney) own businesses and we work every single day and we have 10 kids in the family and we did not grow up with nannies.”

All that wholesome living didn’t keep Kim from showing her assets in an upcoming issue of Playboy. But she insists even that was handled tastefully.

“It is not as revealing as some people might want,” Kim told US. “I keep it classy and covered up. I do bare my whole butt. And a little bit of my chest. But that’s it. It was something that I was really nervous about doing at first and this is the first time I am talking about it.”

Of course the reinvented good-girl made sure the partial nudity even got the Kardashian clan’s stamp of approval. “I consulted the whole family and I decided this is the way I would have wanted it to come out.”

Does Lance Bass dis gays? There’s a lot more to Lance Bass’s resume than ’N Sync. Since the boy band’s dissolution, he’s trained for outer space, dated hunky “Amazing Race” contestant Reichen Lehmkuhl, revealed his sexual status on the cover of People magazine, stars in the Broadway hit “Hairspray,” and just published his memoir, “Out of Sync.” But does he do enough for the gay community? According to Queerty.com’s Andrew Belonsky, not so much.

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. on the "Let's Be Cops," red carpet, Selena Gomez is immortalized in wax and more.

“Within the gay celebrity world, he’s at the top of the list, but not because of anything great he’s done,” the blog editor said in a recent New York Times article about Lance. “I think that somebody in his position could be doing a lot more with the amount of ink that he gets.” What’s more, Andrew says, Lance revealing his homosexuality “was the best career move he ever could’ve made.”

Meanwhile, it’s just that sort of criticism Lance feared. “I definitely didn’t want to be that person that came out ad was like, ‘OK, I’m going to lead every parade,’” Lance said in the same story. He added that, “the gay community is very fickle. And I know because I’m part of it and I see it every day.”

Still, things do seem to be working out for Lance. He’s working with MTV’s gay-oriented network, “Logo,” on a reality show about an all-gay boy band. And apparently, he’s attracting quite the all-boy fan base. A Manhattan doctor, one of Lance’s many male admirers recently waiting for Lance at the “Hairspray” stage door, told NYT “He’s really cute.”

James Lipton’s pimpin’ daysIn an excerpt from James Lipton’s new tome, “Inside Inside,” ContactMusic reveals the hyperbolic host’s surprising early career choice. Turns out it wasn’t always about writing, acting and TV presenting for James.

“This was when I was very, very young, living in Paris, penniless, unable to get any kind of working permit,” James wrote. “I had a friend who worked in what is called the Milieu, which is that world and she suggested to me one night, ‘Look, you'll be my meck...’ We would translate it perhaps ... as pimp.”

Just what did the “Inside the Actors Studio” host do to earn what he calls “a rather good living” as a pimp? Among other duties, he set up sex shows. “I had to accompany my clientele to the Rue Pigalle, which is where these things occurred. And then I'd take them up to the room and I had to remain there because they were very nervous, they were young Americans for the most part ... and they didn't speak French.” Ooh la la.

Dish on the fly
Does the Incredible Shrinking Brittny Gastineau have an eating disorder? “She's trying to get her modeling career off the ground, and she's only 105 pounds now,” a friend of the “Gastineau Girl” told Page Six. After a recent appearance in L.A., “everyone was commenting on how emaciated she looked.” And, as Page Six noted, Brittny herself joked to Jay Leno's “Ross the Intern” that “anorexia” was the secret to her svelte physique. … Eva Mendes is still kicking herself for not taking full advantage of one acting opportunity. Even though she’s enjoyed a number of juicy lip-locks on-screen, ContactMusic reports Eva didn’t make the most of her moment with Johnny Depp in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.” “All of my screen kisses were the best, though I regret not kissing Johnny for longer.” File that under: well, duh.
