Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom are ending their marriage after four years. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star filed divorce papers in Los Angeles on Friday, TODAY has confirmed.

Citing "irreconcilable differences," Kardashian, 29, also requested that her former name be restored and that she not be required to pay spousal support, according to the documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Odom, 34, and Kardashian met while he was playing basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers and they married in Beverly Hills on Sept. 27, 2009. Odom spent seven seasons with the Lakers and won two NBA titles. He has since played with the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers.

Like failed reality TV couples before them (Jessica and Nick, Britney and Kevin, Bobby and Whitney), Kardashian and Odom chronicled their love and lives together in two seasons of the E! series "Khloé & Lamar."

The couple have reportedly been estranged in recent months and the subject of split rumors after Odom was arrested for DUI and spent a day in a rehab facility.

On Thursday, Kardashian took to Instagram to share some inspirational wisdom.
