Red was the color of choice by many leading ladies at Sunday’s Oscars, but no one wore it better than “Knocked Up” star Katherine Heigl. The beautiful blonde was “Access Hollywood’s” No. 1 style star and Nancy O’Dell delivered the news personally.

“You know, you won ‘Access Hollywood’s’ No. 1 best dressed!” O’Dell explained.

“Yay!” Heigl screamed. “That’s awesome!”

“Do you have an acceptance speech?” O’Dell asked.

“I’m so very grateful to all those who voted for me, who believed in me, who brought me here today,” Heigl smiled. “I wouldn’t be who I am without them. Yay!”

Heigl was still rocking her red Escada after the show, poolside at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, while O’Dell slipped into something a little more comfortable.

“I did leave my diamond earrings on, with my sweats,” O’Dell revealed of her post-Oscars, cotton attire.

“Yes! Very fancy,” Heigl smiled. “That’s what I do at home.”

And speaking of home, Heigl revealed in our interview that she is looking to expand her own.

After just two months of marriage to rocker Josh Kelley, the couple is planning their first pregnancy.

“I say I want to start in like July,” Heigl revealed. “He’s saying the following July. I’m thinking maybe a compromise — sometime in December.”

For now though, Heigl is still indulging in having attended and presented at the Oscars.

After Sunday’s ceremony, the star admitted she was stunned to have been in such superstar company.

“It was kind of surreal,” she said of her evening. “I just felt very out of my league, you know? I was sitting behind Cate Blanchett and Jack Nicholson and sitting next to Renee Zellweger. I kind of wanted to get out my iPhone and take pictures.”

“I know Jack can be a ladies’ man. Did he give you a little wink?” O’Dell asked Heigl.

“A little bit,” she enthused. “He called me sugar a couple of times. I was very excited about it. In fact, I might have to tell everyone I know that Jack Nicholson called me sugar.”
