Reality star Kate Gosselin says she “cannot dance” but plans on winning “Dancing with the Stars.”
“I cannot dance,” Gosselin said during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday. “I really want to learn how to dance, so we’ll see.”
The mother of eight said she’d split her time between LA and the Gosselin family home in Pennsylvania while on the ABC series.
“I’m going to travel back to Pennsylvania. My partner [Tony Dovolani] will go with me. I’m going to practice in my basement while [the kids are] home or sleeping and while they are at school, I’ll go to a local studio,” Gosselin explained. “The whole goal is to be at home as much as I can, and I’ll go back and forth each week.”
The busy mom said she hopes to still balance her brood and ballroom work.
“If I can cook dinner and dance, I’ll be doing really well,” she said.
Kimmel pointed out that she’s up against Pussy Cat Doll lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, who is known for her dance skills.
“It is concerning, because I am going to win,” a confident Gosselin proclaimed.
“Are you a competitive person?” Kimmel asked.
“Have you watched my show?” Gosselin said, adding that she believes Nicole and Pamela Anderson are her biggest competition.
“I’m going to give it my all, that’s all I can say,” she added. “Please vote for me!”
And it appears she already has one person backing her, ex-husband Jon Gosselin has pledged his support for Kate.
“Jon is happy for Kate and supportive of her joining the new season of ‘DWTS,’” a rep for Jon said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
Kate Gosselin and partner Tony Dovolani and the rest of the couples will hit the dance floor on the two-hour season premiere on Monday, March 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
