The gates to "Jurassic World" are officially reopening in 2018.
Universal Pictures officially announced the sequel to the blockbuster hit Thursday afternoon, confirming stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return, along with executive producer Steven Spielberg.
It's no surprise the franchise is coming back for another bite — "Jurassic World" had the biggest global debut of all time, and recently surpassed "The Avengers" to become the third-highest grossing movie of all time, having raked in more than $1.5 billion.
While Universal did not announce who will be directing, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly will return to pen the script.
The sequel is slated for release on June 22, 2018.
