"This is your captain speaking -- well maybe not today," John Travolta declares in the attached safety video for Qantas Airways. The 3 1/2-minute video is being played before takeoff on every domestic and international Qantas flight, and as you'll see it gives the appearance that Travolta is in some way, part of the Qantas team. And that has reportedly angered real-life Qantas employees who think that members of their own staff should front such a video.
For those in a hurry to get to their next destination: The actor's opening bit lasts 30 seconds, a female voiceover runs through the safety procedures for about 3 minutes and Travolta checks back in at the 3:25 mark.
Travolta earlier this year flew a Qantas plane full of Oprah fans to Australia for a special taping of her show.
