Things got physical — and funny — when John Stamos stopped by TODAY Monday morning!
The actor explained that in his new Fox series, "Grandfathered," his character suddenly learns that he is, in fact, a grandfather — he then promptly slaps another character just for asking about it.

"Is it harder, as an actor, to be the guy who slaps someone or the guy that gets slapped knowing it's coming," anchor Matt Lauer asked.
And, boy, did he get his answer!
But Matt can give as good as he gets:
"That was hard!" John shot back.
So what did Matt think after getting some firsthand (across the face) experience? Well, he took it like a pro, but couldn't help but wonder if he winced.
"You winced," his sparring partner said. "A lot."
Matt rubbed his cheek and admitted, "It actually hurts."
At least he didn't get knocked out of his seat, like a certain weather-and-more man we know.
Watch the clips to see all of the fun! And catch the series premiere of "Grandfathered" Wednesday 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
