Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Joe Biden are putting the "vice" in "vice president." A hilarious video released Saturday shows HBO's "Veep" star and real-life veep playing hooky from the "White House Snore-respondents Dinner" as they tear through Washington in a yellow Corvette, causing mischief.

In the 7-minute spot, which was shown at the actual White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday night but is not actually a promo for the TV show, the pair sneak into the White House kitchen and scarf ice cream from oversize tubs. (They're caught by First Lady Michelle Obama, who lectures them on healthy eating before chowing down herself.) The two go on to infiltrate the offices of the Washington Post and rewrite the paper's headlines ("BIDEN IS RIDIN' HIGH: APPROVAL RATINGS OF 200%"), then bump into House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi getting inked at a tattoo parlor. (Biden and Louis-Dreyfus spring for matching "45" tats, hinting at a battle for the presidency in 2016.) Speaker of the House John Boehner makes a brief appearance to say he's skipping the correspondents' dinner, too — he'd rather watch panda videos.

There's also a pointed reference at Netflix's "House of Cards," and the show's tendency to break the fourth wall. At one point, Louis-Dreyfus drops her voice into a Southern drawl reminiscent of Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood character and says, "Yes, we can all look directly into the camera, Kevin. The point is you're not supposed to."

As she and Biden gleefully demonstrate, however, rules were made to be broken.

"Veep" airs on HBO Sundays at 10:30 p.m.
