It is a well-established fact that when one considers the late, great soul and R&B singer Marvin Gaye, one's thoughts naturally turn to ... barbershop quartets.
Or maybe that's just how Jimmy Fallon thinks.
We may never know exactly how the configuration of the 1982 classic Gaye hit "Sexual Healing" — a sultry, insinuating tune that features the lyric "when I get that feeling, I want sexual healing" — took a left turn into a performance by Fallon and his Ragtime Gals Wednesday night on "Tonight," but it doesn't really matter: It was all kinds of awesome (and featured a perfect cheek-pop by Fallon).
Then out came a bearded Steve Carell to join the quartet — and make things even better. He had a healing effect, you might say.
