“The Office” star Jenna Fischer and her husband James Gunn have separated, her publicist confirmed to “Access Hollywood.”

“We have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends,” a statement released to People magazine read. “The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other’s lives, spirits and careers is real — we have been each other’s cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future.”

The couple married six years ago. Fisher and Gunn met, according to People magazine, through his brother, former “Gilmore Girls” actor Sean Gunn.

Fischer is well known for playing receptionist Pam Beesly on “The Office.” She has also appeared in “Blades of Glory,” and is next up in “The Brothers Solomon,” a comedy due out on Sept. 7.

Gunn wrote the screenplay for “Scooby-Doo,” “Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” and “Slither,” a horror film which Fischer had a role in.

Earlier this year, in May, Fischer fractured four bones in her back after slipping on a marble staircase at an event in New York City.
