Jamie Lynn Spears says she and her children are receiving "death threats" after she spoke up about her sister Britney Spears' explosive courtroom testimony regarding her controversial conservatorship.

The former "Zoey 101"star, 30, issued a message Friday in her Instagram story to those who have been threatening the lives of her and her family members.

"Hi, I respect that everyone has the right to express themselves, but can we please stop with the death threats, especially the death threats to children," she wrote.

Jamie Lynn Spears' message comes a week after she broke her silence about her sister's conservatorship in an emotional selfie video to her Instagram story. In the video, she explained that she waited for Britney Spears to speak out against her conservatorship before she expressed her own opinion on the matter.

"Now that she's very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feeI I need to say," Spears said, after her older sister told a Los Angeles probate judge that she'd been "traumatized" by her conservatorship, which she described as "abusive."

The "Toxic" singer was placed under the conservatorship, which is controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, after her public mental health breakdown in 2008.

Earlier this week, a judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court denied Britney Spears's request to remove her father as the conservator of her estate.

In her selfie video, Jamie Lynn Spears said, "Since the day I was born, I've only loved, adored and supported my sister."

She added, "Maybe I didn't support the way the public may have liked me to, with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you I have supported my sister long before there was a hashtag and I'll support her long after."

Spears also said she was "proud" of her sister for giving her candid testimony.

"I'm so proud of her for using her voice. I'm so proud of her for requesting new counsel like I told her many years ago — oh, not in a public platform but just in a personal conversation between two sisters," she said.
