Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly pregnant

OK! magazine reports that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears (sister to the infamous Britney) is expecting a baby.

OK! magazine reports that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears (sister to the infamous Britney) is expecting a baby. The due date has not been revealed, but TMZ.com reports that the father is Casey Aldridge, whom Spears met at church and has been dating.

Spears recently responded coyly when asked if she was returning to her Nickelodeon TV show, “Zoey 101.” “I don’t know. I don’t know,” she told the Associated Press.

Nickelodeon issued the following statement this afternoon regarding the pregnancy, according to TMZ: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

The high school junior also told AP, “I’m going to try to graduate before I do anything else.”

Sister Britney has two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Not excited about weight gainJennifer Lopez might be thrilled that she’s pregnant, but according to some sources she’s “freaked out” over gaining weight.

“She is huge and freaking out. Her face has become really puffy from retaining a lot of water,” a source told international press.

The weight gain is enough to prompt Lopez to put her career on hold until her little one makes an appearance.

“She plans to do a Victoria Beckham now and hibernate for the last few months. You won’t be seeing much of her in public from now on.” After a months-long bump watch, Lopez announced her pregnancy in November. She’s due in the spring. Lopez’s rep weighs in saying, “This is ridiculous and untrue. She is happy and healthy.”

For Pitt, it’s all about giving
It might be Brad Pitt’s birthday (his 44th) but gifts for him aren’t what is on his mind. Instead, Pitt, who was in New York City to film an episode of “Live with Regis & Kelly,” told Regis he’s all about doing Christmas shopping for his kids.

Regis Philbin told Us Weekly, “He’s got four kids now, so they're going to be hopping around. He got quite nostalgic, buying them the presents that he got as a kid years ago.”

What kind of presents? “Well, I think trains,” Philbin said. “I didn't pin him down, I’m notUs Weekly!” Fair enough.

Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the kids are all planning on spending the holiday in New Orleans, where they own a home in the French Quarter. The brood has been spending more time in the Big Easy as Pitt works on his “Make it right” housing project in the city’s Lower Ninth Ward.

Strikers plan ‘crime scene’ picketAlthough Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien announced they’ll be back on television Jan. 2, the Writers Guild of America continues to strike and they’re getting even more creative with their picketing strategies.

“We’re doing a ‘scene of the crime’ themed strike Dec. 18 in New York and L.A.,” “Law & Order” executive producer Rene Balcer tells me. “We’ll be reading a Bill of Indictment against the AMPTP issued by the ‘Criminal Writing Division’ of the WGA. The AMPTP will be declared a crime scene and cordoned off with over a mile of yellow crime scene tape.”

Update: Say a little prayer for the Golden Globes and the Oscars. Although the shows are scheduled to happen, the WGA will not be issuing waivers that would allow each broadcast to hire a skeleton crew of writers. What does this mean? That scripted banter that takes place will likely become even more awkward and worst-case scenario, many nominees will not cross picket lines. Katherine Heigl, nominated for “Grey’s Anatomy,” has already announced that she has no interest in attending the Globes if the strike isn’t settled.
