As Jennifer Lopez took the stage at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, the packed house was abuzz with rumors of a big announcement to come.

Would J.Lo finally confirm the swirling pregnancy reports?

Not only had other outlets reported she was pregnant with twins, but photos of Jennifer performing last week in Connecticut with what appears to be a protruding baby bump only added further fuel to the rumor mill.

And just about 20 minutes into the performance, it appeared Jennifer was about to give her hometown fans the news they’d been waiting for ... or was she?

“God has finally blessed me ... ,” she told the eagerly awaiting crowd. “ ... to be here with you.”

During the show, the always-energetic superstar bounced around the stage, but an Access Hollywood source inside said it seemed J.Lo was very careful about not letting outfits reveal too much.

“She may not have made an announcement but this lady is definitely pregnant,” said an Access source inside the show.

And her final wardrobe choice of the night was a flowing orange dress, which was anything but form fitting.

Jennifer Lopez's rise to fame

From Fly Girl to international celebrity, Jennifer Lopez's rise to fame -- and her search for love -- has made her a global phenomenon.

“Her last outfit couldn’t be more clear that she’s hiding something because it had no shape to it whatsoever,” the source added

After some more music, Jenny From the Block once again paused in between songs to address the crowd.

Surely, this would be the news everyone was waiting for.

“I don’t know how many of you know this ... ,” she told the thousands of screaming fans. “ ... but I released my first Spanish album this year.”

Of course, with most tickets priced at a few hundred bucks, it’s likely most of those in attendance were up on their J.Lo album news beforehand.

But hey, a little music plug never hurts.

And announcement or not, the crowd showed their love for the hometown gal throughout the show.

“They cheered! Loads for her,” the source said. “Don’t know if that was because of the tease or because they were excited. Regardless, lots of cheering.”
