With a new album set for release next month and a hit single hovering near the top of the Billboard charts, Britney Spears’ professional comeback seems a given. But just as the 26-year-old’s career takes off again, her hard-earned personal comeback could be in jeopardy.

That concern comes on the heels of Spears' alleged renewed involvement with the man who was right by her side during her darkest days, the then-ever-present paparazzo, Adnan Ghalib.

“Britney and Adnan are constantly on the phone or text-messaging each other,” an insider revealed to the National Enquirer. “Britney gets excited when he calls or texts because he lavishes her with compliments.”

The source claims the couple’s interactions are currently limited to their cell phones, as they hope to keep the singer’s conservator-father, Jamie Spears, from finding out about their relationship. While dad may be in the dark, Britney Spears ex-husband, Kevin Federline, is said to be know the score.

“Kevin is clear about one thing,” the insider explained. “If Britney goes to Adnan, she will never get back custody of the kids, and she can forget about ever taking them traveling with her.”

Dog days for AnistonThough she stars alongside a canine companion in her upcoming film, “Marley & Me,” Jennifer Aniston’s not exactly a dog person. In fact, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actress admits the presence of a pooch almost put her off the story all together.

After finding three copies of the best-selling book on which the film was based under her Christmas tree last year, Aniston didn’t even want to read it.

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. on the "Let's Be Cops," red carpet, Selena Gomez is immortalized in wax and more.

“I thought, this isn't a book I'm going to sit down and read, because it's got a dog on the cover,” she confessed. “I don't know why I had that weird prejudice against it.”

The prejudice seeped over to the “Marley & Me” script she later received, which Aniston said inspired little more than an “Uck, a dog movie” reaction before she gave it a second chance.

“It's so much more than a dog movie," she now says. "It's this beautiful portrait of a marriage and this 15-year span between these two people and this sweet little unconditionally loving creature that sort of walks through it with them.”

But her dog woes were back in full force once she met her canine co-star. Aniston added, “I walked onto the set and put my sweater and my bag down on the couch, and that dog leapt up onto the couch, grabbed my sweater and started ripping it!”

Dish on the fly With the word “goodbye!” (or rather “bye! good”) scrawled across his knuckles, Joaquin Phoenix made his Hollywood farewell official at this weekend’s American Film Institute festival. Last week the actor told “Extra” he was putting the movie biz behind him, and at the AFI event, he confirmed the news to the Associated Press. “I think it's just moving on,” he said. “It's rediscovering something else.” … From the “then there’s no hope for the rest of us” department, big-screen beauty Halle Berry recently revealed that even she’s not completely comfortable with her body. “Kate Winslet is always naked, sitting on a toilet, running buck-naked,” Berry told Elle magazine. “She's free. I want to be the kind of actress who can really be comfortable with my body like that.” … While Miley Cyrus and her man of the moment, Justin Gaston, still haven’t revealed whether or not they’re dating, Gaston made a big statement over the weekend with his choice of festive costume. TMZ photogs caught the 20-year-old as he hit the town dressed as Miley’s ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas, complete with pop rocker gear, big hair and a tiny guitar.
