Part of being a good live television host is knowing how to improvise. And sometimes, being a good improvisor means being willing to act as a piece of audio equipment.
When singer Frankie Valli of The Four Seasons visited the fourth hour on Friday, Kathie Lee couldn't let him leave without a hello from John, a TODAY security guard and Frankie super-fan. But since John wasn't miked up, KLG gamely sat on his lap and invited him to use her as an amplification device.
"Speak into my chest!" she said, draping herself across his lap. "Tell the man why you love him so much."
"I can't see around them!" said John, so she offered to "get the out of the way" while he spoke in the direction of her magical decolletage about all of the good memories he remembers of hearing songs by The Four Seasons.
Everybody seemed genuinely moved before John told KLG, "You can get up now."
