There will be no guest appearances on “American Idol” for Britney Spears any time soon.

Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told reporters on Thursday he doesn’t believe the “... Baby One More Time” star is in the right shape to serve as a celebrity mentor for the singing hopefuls.

“Britney, at this moment, I don’t think is well enough to do anything and I think she needs looking after rather than being pushed in front of the cameras or pushing herself in front of cameras,” Lythgoe said. “I thinks she needs to get herself together, bless her.”

Lythgoe noted that Spears would have been welcome last time around.

“I would have had Britney Spears last year for sure, when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again,” he said.
